Concord is the largest city in Contra Costa County and the eighth largest in the San Francisco Bay Area. It’s home to an estimated population nearing 130,000 people, covering a land area of just over 30 square miles.

The city was founded in 1869 and incorporated in 1905. Today, the focal point of downtown Concord is Todo Santos Plaza, known for its farmers market, free summer concerts and many restaurants. While Concord has been a bedroom community for San Francisco and Oakland over the last forty years, jobs within the city have increased in recent years. Round Table Pizza is headquartered in Concord, and such large corporations as Chevron and Bank of America have established operations here, bringing diversity to the local economy.
